BeaconStat — Know what ships, what sticks.
Usage analytics for distributed software. If you build WordPress plugins, browser extensions, CLI tools, or any software that runs on someone else's machine — BeaconStat tells you what's actually happening in the field.
The Problem
You shipped it. Now what?
When your software runs on someone else's server, you're flying blind. Which versions are people running? Which features are they actually using? Are they upgrading? Are they churning?
Google Analytics doesn't help here. Support tickets are lagging indicators. What you need is a lightweight, privacy-respecting beacon that phones home with the data you actually care about.
What It Does
Install Tracking
Know exactly how many active installs you have. Not downloads — active, running instances. Track activations, deactivations, and uninstalls.
Version Distribution
See which versions your users are running. Know when it's safe to deprecate old code. Track upgrade velocity after releases.
Feature Adoption
Track which features are actually being used. Stop building things nobody wants. Double down on what works.
Environment Data
PHP versions, WordPress versions, server environments. Know what your users are running so you can support it — or drop it with data to back the decision.
Why We're Building This
We needed this ourselves.
One of our founders has spent time at MonsterInsights — a WordPress plugin running on 3 million+ sites. The hardest part wasn't building features. It was knowing which features to build next.
BeaconStat is the tool we wished we had. Lightweight enough to embed in any distributed software. Honest enough to tell you what your users actually do, not what you hope they do.
